Molokai Island is ideal for longer term vacations
The Island of Moloka'i is just 20 minutes from Honolulu but a world away in terms of tempo and lifestyle. Moloka'i is home of the "Hula" - heartbeat of the Hawaiian culture.
Here there are no highrises ... no buildings taller than a palm tree. The maximum speed is 45 mph and there isn't a stop light on the island. The total population on the Island of Moloka'i is about 7,000, yet only a quick 20 minutes hop to Honolulu by the local air shuttle.
Popahaku Beach
Topography varies from lush jungle, to the highest sea cliffs in the world. The huge Moloka'i Ranch is 57,000 acres. Kepuhi Beach Resort (aka Kaluakoi Villas) at West Moloka'i in Kaluakoi is nestled on the western shore, adjacent to Hawaii's longest white sand beach where on any given day another couple is a crowd.

- Tour Father Damien's Leprosy Colony @ the world's Steepest Sea Cliffs of Kalaupapa via helicopter, hiking or mule rides.
- Halawa Valley's 2 waterfalls cascade hundreds of feet into a blue lagoon where legends say some of the first Polynesian Voyagers landed in their double-hulled canoes. Unforgettable!
- Tour 500 acres of Molokai's aromatic coffee fields in a mule-drawn wagon @ the "Molokai Coffee Plantation."
- Visit Purdy's working Macadamia Nut Farm.
- Charter Fishing & Whale Watching Boat Rentals, Snorkeling, Scuba, Kayak, Body Boards, Surfboard, Fishing Pole and Bicycle Rentals available.
- Just south of Kepuhi Beach is 3 mile long x 100 yd. wide Papohaku Beach. The 2nd largest in the state of Hawaii!
- Kaunakakai Town is just a few blocks long with a potpourri of eateries,shops, Wine & Spirits, and grocery stores.
- Maunaloa Town has a grocery store, a smaller selection of “tourist” shops, and kite/gift shop.
